SPOILERSMillennial Doctors lost in the forest...checkRobots...checkNavy SEAL with a past...checkEvil CIA and Military Contractors...checkIt is a strange movie in that they went with a lot of local and relatively unknown actors for the most part so you aren't getting the best acting in the world, but they spent some real money on location and the CGI for the robots that are amazing. As another reviewer mentioned, without the robots this would be a B-rated movie based on the human actors.THE ROBOTS!!! They look real, move realistically, and really are the back bone of the movie. Certain scenes the way they move creates some creepy situations that really draw you in. Aside from the relative ease with which the all important control units seems to just fall in and out of these killer robots, a needed plot point, is the only issue I had with the robots themselves. The SEAL...of course a SEAL...in a Cambodian village...living amongst drug runners...sure, why not? Trident tattoo looks like it was applied at a carnival and SEALs are part of Special Operations, not Special Forces. None of it really played a part as he didn't have the obligatory weapons stash, never fought anything hand to hand, the robots are bulletproof, and he had plot armor from being shot as the star of the movie so all of the dead aim robots miss him.The kids...these young Doctors are actually believable. So many American religious and medical groups have this notion that they are somehow immune to the dangers of the world because they are on a noble mission. Far too often they end up the victims of kidnapping or worse as they stumble into situations they are ill prepared for and react in disbelief and panic. How the guy with the little top knot became the ultimate weapon in a few short minutes racking and checking mags on the AK-47 is a little far-fetched, but who knows. The action was great and the plot twists never seemed to go the way you typically expect. The female technician runs and you think she is going to get the word out, but nope...her boyfriend she called, he gone!!! The SEALs love interest, nope, she didn't make it. Build up for the inevitable macho SEAL and CIA Tough Guy knife fight...oops, robot got your leg, haha. Contractors get the phone call to go home, "Hey, is ole boy still there with you? Yep...cool...BOOM!!! Bye bye. Of course the info was uploaded to a news agency or some other source by someone and the operation exposed...nope.In the end, the bad guys survived and kept going...rarely happens. Aside from no idea what happens to the SEAL and the few survivors, all we know is the advanced AI got uploaded to at least one of the robots on the factory floor.Ultimately, fun to watch, not so cheesy that it distracted too much from the robots, and the unexpected outcomes of the usually predictable scenarios made it a refreshing movie to watch.
