Large fits my slim but long 10 month pup! These sweaters vary quite a bit in sizing due to yarn thickness, pattern and them being hand made. My 33 pound pup wears mediums as well, but mediums are not as long as I would like them to be. Larges can gap too much in chest. We have 6 chilly dog sweaters. Maybe best to order 2 sizes and send one back. Both our dogs love these sweaters and the have a calming eggect on them. I am used to 100% wool and mostly hand wash than lay flat to dry. Could be very gently washed in garden bag in machine. Important to use a soap made to wash wool. Theses are beautiful, lovely, warm sweaters and get tons of compliments!
