Very well written. This version is outdated a bit, but Patrick Morley published a new full sized updated version at the end of 2014. I've worked for Patrick Morley's ministry since 2004 making follow-up calls with our constituents. This is the book that seems like a timeless impact on the lives of men and their families. I hear story after story of how it's impacted the reader's life so deeply in helping men draw closer to Christ and start to develop a working understanding of biblical manhood. They tell me stories of saved marriages and many other victories that flow from that perceptive. It's not that Christianity doesn't work, it's that very few people live it. Pat Morley helps men learn how to live it.One wife I spoke with was so excited about the changes she saw in her husband that she had to chat with me before putting him on the phone. At the time her husband started reading the book, they were separated and still trying to work out problems. During one of their dates, her husband ask, "Do you know a man named Patrick Morley?""No, I don't think so," she replied."Are you sure," he pressed. Her curiosity was peaked. "I don't recognized the name. Why to you ask?""He is writing about things that are hitting so close to home, it's like he must have been talking to you."Pat had not talked to her, but he wrote about what he knows--common blocks to men's spiritual growth. That impacts marital relationships and every aspect of family and social interactions. We have read this book in our meeting during staff devotionals. It's very well written--organized and in small segments of insightful nuggets we can ponder throughout the day.Given that so many church practices and orientation are more geared toward the preferences of women, this book helps to bridge the gender gap in a way that both challenges and inspires men to godliness and embarking on the adventure of a personal relationship with God through Christ and the Holy Sprit.
