I finally finished all of the Gray Man books. I enjoyed each and every one! I now have three of my friends (all are veterans) reading and enjoying them. I am so glad I discovered them!!!I read all types of books: mysteries, history, science fiction, philosophy, politics, theology, classics, all types of fiction & non-fiction. Sometimes you just want to get away from the tomes or heavy subject matter and read something light or "escapist" - like the Gray Man books. The main character, Courtland Gentry, is almost unbelievable (OK - my mistake - he is unbelievable). He's usually getting his highly dangerous mission/objective completed while operating and running around with multiple "bad" parties (assassins, cartels, intelligence agencies, mercenaries, fanatics, etc.) coming after him - many of them at the same time! Oh yeah, he's usually injured or bleeding from some part (or parts) of his body while he's on the move. You're tempted to think that what you're reading can't possibly happen. No human can do (or survive) what just happened to Gentry. Then you think, well, though it seems unlikely, what happens is still possible, and this makes the story so interesting to read. The other characters in the book are developed perfectly. The technology and military aspects applicable to the stories are fully explained. The books appear to be "long" reads - five or six hundred plus pages. However, they read easily & quickly. I read a couple of hundred pages at a clip - no problem.I eagerly look forward to the next book (keep them coming) and so do my three friends.
