Highly skewed in favor of Watchtower "theology". I wouldn't listen to any malarky any Jehovah's Witness has to say about "You received free, give free" when it comes to their literature. First of all, their real goal with they way they distribute their publications is "information control" They positively DO NOT want people collecting their literature and quoting from it to demonstrate their weirdness or just how wrong they are. Wherever they can they get websites pulled down for quoting their literature and sue people and require that the people they sue destroy the library of Watchtower literature they do own if they don't like how their views are represented. http://www.culteducation.com/reference/jw/jw223.pdf ; http://www.religionnewsblog.com/12205/jehovahs-witnesses-file-100000-suit-to-silence-embarrassing-whistle-blower-website . Also, look at the Eula on their Watchtower CD's. "The License Agreement states that each CD-ROM is for the personal use of Jehovah's Witnesses only, and prohibits any dissemination of large sections of the CD-ROM to anyone who has not agreed to be bound by the terms of the License Agreement.” ; “The content of the CD-ROMs is not readily available to the general public. Some of the content is intended only for Jehovah's Witnesses. Accordingly, the CD-ROMs constitute confidential information.” How is it that the vast majority of information on a Watchtower CD is the same as what they distribute from door to door and then all of a sudden it becomes "confidential information" when compiled on a CD? I'll tell you why. Because they don't want anybody other than their brainwashed masses to have entire libraries of their publications to quote from because then the REAL truth comes out. Not the "truth" they want to control. They are practicing information and mind control with their distribution techniques and practices and they want to control what you know before you complete their "Bible Study" and baptismal process and have agreed to identify yourself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses "in association with The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society". Then, once you have all the information you need to start seeing what they really teach and what they are all about more clearly, you are under penalty of shunning and losing your entire support system through disfellowshipping because you become what they term "an apostate" and once you're once of Jehovah's Witnesses you are subject to all types of being marked as "weak" and/or disfellowshipped if your only "good friends" aren't Jehovah's Witnesses. It's information control and mind control. Don't listen to rebukes about "you received free, you give free" from these people. They do not want people to see what they have to say within the context of EVERYTHING they have had to say until it is too late and the consequences of leaving are excessively and punitively high, if they can possibly help it.I damaged the original copy I got of this publication. I didn't check but "I think" that we can't get hardbacks of this anymore from the Kingdom Hall literature counter so I just picked this up for my library. We were placing the paper back version of this publication as the field service offer for the 2011 month of December, so there is no issue with getting a paper back version. I just wanted the hardback for my library. This really is a great book. And, it's available to read as a free download from jw dot org via eBook, PDF, & Audio (MP3, AAC).Remarkable book of the greatest man who ever lived... very inspiring & encouraging.I'm not a JW but am Christian and just love how easy to read and understand this book. It has verses for each story to look at in bible so that's also wonderful.I have been looking for this book for awhile now and was very happy to find it. Great book and great service. Thank you.good readVisit jw dot orgclick on publications at the top of the pagethen click on books on the leftarrow until you see this book (the cover has changed but the title has not)and you can read/listen downloadTo know what Jehovah's Witnesses believe about God or Christ you should ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses's . Beliefs are posted online on jw dot ortin the footer of the page under contact us ... if you click 'write to us" and then on the left click on Frequently Asked Questions. Then you will get an accurate picture of what Jehovah's Witnesses's believe. This book is about the life of Jesus, from birth to resurrection. It goes deeply into what his mission on earth was, it explains the parables, and certain quotes. For example: "...let the dead bury their own dead." is not literal. It means let the "spiritually" dead bury the "physically" dead. The story of why he said it is pretty interesting.Almost every page has an illustration and each chapter is filled with many bible citations.Reading this book will help you understand the new testament (especially the gospels) better because you get to learn who the main characters are and all of the important events. So yes, I give it 5 stars, there's no problem with the book. However, this book DOES NOT REPLACE THE GOSPELS.Its purpose is to help you understand them, especially if you're always on the go, and don't have much time to meditate on quotes, such as the one above, when you're reading the bible (any version of the bible). Also, there are many versions of the bible out there and every religion has its own way of interpreting the scriptures... but this is a pretty DAMN good interpretation, a great introduction to the gospels for beginners. :D@@ Peace, tolerance, and respect @@Jesus Christ is The Greatest Man who ever lived, it is very informative and educating if you believe in Jesus?
