Old Man Emu OMESD24 Heavy-Duty Steering Damper for Off-Road Trucks & SUVs - Improve Handling on Rough Terrain & Adventure Trips

This cleaned up my steering A LOT! I had a death wobble at 60mph previous to install on my Toyota Land Cruiser LJ78 and that went away just with this! It's a cheap upgrade that is almost always necessary on old Land Cruisers/JDM Import Trucks. I paired this with the full ARB/OME lift kit and I was very pleased with the outcome.This replaced an undersized steering damper on my 1997 Lexus LX450. The truck has 3" of lift and 35" tires on it and they were literally pulling me all over the road; it was a nightmare to drive over 45mph. Any rut in the road or imperfection and the tires would turn the wheel. This product made it a totally different vehicle.The product is way beefier than what was on it, and appears to have stainless hardware with lock nuts.Install was pretty straight forward, only 2 nuts to take off, and directions were included. However, due to the place this lives under the vehicle, and the fact that I'm in the northeast, the old damper was rusted in place. Start soaking those nuts now if you're going to change it.I used PB blaster for a few days and they were still really stuck. I mixed 50% ATF and 50% acetone (read it online), soaked it overnight, and the parts came loose the next day with way less grief. That will be my go to penetrant from now on.Hope this review was helpful....My 1994 Land Cruiser 80 series also has Old Man Emu lift kit/steering damper, and from the looks of it, its been on there a while, and it still drives like a dream. Old Man Emu for the win.It just works. Amen.This is the shock only, I by seeing the images installed, I though the bolts were included however they do not.I had to get custom bolts to get it fit.It works as it should.Good replacement option for OEM, Perfect fit for my Lexus LX450. My only complaint is the paint work wasn’t great I had some chips on it that could cause early rust.Easy installationOME steering damper, I use this on my 86 FJ60...works well and I've used one for some time. I replace them every 4 or 5 years as they really get a workout and sometimes get damaged from the rocks. Good solution, I like most of the OME products that are avalaible for my FJ60 and so far have not had any quality issues.After rebuilding the knuckles and replacing the brifs, my new to me LX450 needed a new stabilizer. The OME fit the bill and am very happy with it.
