My 11 year old son and I read this together, each night after the others were tucked in. He looked forward to each night's alone time with Mom and that added to the book being received well. We enjoyed it very much and thought it was really well written and easy to read. Loved the sarcasm and small stories throughout! This book was thought-provoking and speaks about the things that don't get considered as kids grow up; or rather, that get forgotten about. I'll quote Dr. Ray Guarendi here, "It says what good, faithful parents want to say, but may not always be able to find the words." And that's true - I feel like my instruction was complete when I added this book.
