DESCRIPTION
Nominated for multiple awards and picked as book of the year by several publications, Frances Wilsonâ€s revelatory biography takes Lawrence from wartime hiding in Cornwall with his German wife Frieda to his last years in New Mexico. Drawing on both his minor works and the memoirs of those who knew him, it recreates the restless, itinerant and often quarrelsome life of this controversial writer, and the ferment of his ideas.

This book is erudite and well-written. It requires you know quite a bit about a lot of things. Namely, I was ignorant of Dante's Divine Comedy. You can't read this book and be as unaware as I was/am. So it led me to brush up my Dante --which is where I am now. Nonetheless the book is scholarly and it made me want to know more about many things--not just DHL.
