A great issue that barely features its title hero at all.Still MIA as a result of the tremendous beating he suffered in issue #260,Matt Murdock's friends and loved ones mobilize to try to find him before Hells Kitchen gets wind of his absence. In what seems like a good idea at the time Karen Page enlists the aid of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch to try to get a bead on Daredevil.Hilarity ensues as Johnny tries in vain to emulate Daredevil's mystique and brand of cool.Lets just say there's a t-shirt involved that reads:"I'm Bad...Real Bad!"A gem of Ann Nocenti's dark moody and gritty DD run, issue #261 is also a wonderful character study on not only DD but his friends as well. Nocenti's quirky dialogue and off-kilter take on DD's universe mixed with John Romita Jr's legendary artistic stylings make this issue a treat for casual fans and diehards as well.Although i would recommend reading the preceding AND following few issues to get the full effect.
