My daughter is five and we both enjoyed this book. I loved that the author included Dena'ina words in the story and included phonetic pronunciations to ensure the reader pronounced them correctly. My daughter loved learning and practicing the words. The fable itself tells the story of an orphaned child, Chia, as he struggles with honesty and integrity after stealing the duguli (axe) from Fox Man. Ultimately he decides to do the right thing and returns the duguli. The story is captivating for children and parents alike and the illustrations are very nice, too.
