I have been reading for the past few years in New Testament Studies and this is one of about 3 or 4 books that really got me thinking differently about Jesus. I don't know if Breech is correct in how he interprets Jesus' parables, but he is right on in his methodology and his psychology. It is a real tour de force and an exciting trip for the reader. Basically, Breech points out that there is no religion at all in Jesus' parables; they are succinct reports from an expert observer of human behavior. What a refreshing approach! Now, how can I use that to peel back a couple thousand years of others' takes on Jesus?
