Death of a Macho Man (Hamish Macbeth Mystery Series) - Cozy British Crime Novel for Mystery Lovers & Book Club Discussions

The TV show never captures the total charm of Macbeth or the wonders of Scotland. There is no sidekick in the book, only a dog and cat who never even come up with a clue. Hamish has the endearing quality of needing to discuss ongoing cases with the women in his life. And even better, he is unsuccessful in love causing readers ( who are women) to regret he never met them. Macbeth is not ambitious and solves murders because he believes taking another human life ( and most likely, also one’s own ) is wrong. Killing is wrong. What a novel idea these days! Unfortunately, the author died and with her this enchanting policeman and her spot on caustic remarks about life in and out of Scotland.???????
