It doesn't get much better than this: great vocals, great songs, great guitar, great band, . . . . just a great all-around blues album. This 12-song CD from 1997 was produced by Ron Levy on the Bullseye Blues label. Smokey wrote eight of the tunes. Laid-back blues is nice sometimes, but for those of us that want it done with enthusiasm, whether fast or slow, Smokey and the band deliver. Not every Smokey album is like this one, but this is the style that I like from him. It has a real live sound to it with just enough horns and an especially great guitar tone.
