Strikingly beautiful and highly amusing Jack Barrymore and his real wife Dolores Costello star in a French story about a woman named Manon. Apparently the character is a prostitute, but I didn't get that from this adaptation. She seemed very sweet. She has a cat she keeps with her! He is going to be a priest, but then he meets her. They have some adventures in the town, but then they must part. Toward the end, she is to be shipped off to New Orleans against her will, but Jack swings into action on the ship in a daring rescue attempt. The film seems to run for a long, long time, but it's fun. Lots of heavily painted up wig and powder era French aristocrats. Warner Oland of Charlie Chan fame also stars.
