The only issue is that my dog throws the boots off easily especially on the back feet. I need some better boots for the back feet. They are sewn well and seem like they will hold up for a long time. Bottom of shoes are waterproof with a good grip but not the material on top. I use them for the super hot pavement days and when it’s raining/flooding. I bought another color for my other dog as well. These were perfect for taking our dog with us when we were hunting for obsidian (volcanic glass). There were obsidian chips all over, including the road and the campsite, so her feet would have been shredded without the booties. They held up well and she got used to them pretty quickly. She did do a couple of face-plants when she tripped running on rough ground, but no complaints. The boots are good and fit well. However our veterinarian recommended we buy longer boots for our dog medical needs. Wish they had a longer version. Our dogs paws were getting blisters, dry, cracked and painful from “lifeguarding” on warm concrete around our pool. Got her paw soothing balm and put these on and they feel much softer, doesn’t limp. She is starting to get used to them but walks like a new foal when I first put them on. Have to make the straps very tight to keep them from twisting but doesn’t seem to cut off circulation. The first 3-4 times she used them she was able to walk out of them (with added effort) but now that they are less stiff and broken in (and I pull the straps tightly) they stay in place.I was beginning to think no dog boots would really work right for my dog. I have not got to take my dog on a long walk yet, but the other dog boots I tired before this did not fit right. Let me just start by saying, you must measure your dog's feet! Get a sheet of paper and put your dogs paw on it, make sure your dog is standing and the weight is on the paw, so it is the normal size when standing. Mark on the left and right of the paw on the paper and then on the front and the back of the paw. Including the claws. I trimmed my dogs claws a bit, they are perhaps longer than they should be, but I can't trim too much of I would hit the wick and they bleed all over. But, even with the longer claws, this boot fits perfect and snug. I also LOVE that the boot opens up really wide, so you can wiggle your dogs paw into the boot, all the way to the front of the boot. Do it semi gentle, you don't want to hurt the dog foot, but feel to make sure the paw and claws are all the way to the front of the boot. Then draw the bottom velco, making it snug, and keeping the boot straight. Then draw the top velcro to secure the boot. Again, make sure you measured your dogs paw, so you get the right size of boot. If the boot is too big or small, it will fall off or not fit. I also love that the top velro is wide, the boots I got from the local pet stores all had a draw string. However, I think it cuts into the dog paw, and also that makes a big loop then to get caught on things. These boots with the double velcro, that is perfect! Does a great job to secure the boot to the dog foot, but also it is comfort and safer. I also love how light weight these dog boots are! They are a thinner material than the others I had, but I like that, as they form to the paw much better. You can get dog socks for winter, that dry fast, as to put on the paws and then inside the boots. If you want the extra warmth, but I think the main thing that is so hard on the dog paws is coming in contact with the direct snow, ice and salt or water. The plastic padding I think is fine, and will protect my dogs paws in these below 0 degree days. My dog does fine on 30 degree days, but these below 0 days, it is too cold for his paws on walks. I have not let my dog run in any dog boots yet, he has his dew claws still and I have read about people whose dogs dew claws got very hurt by dog boots when they ran. So I plan to just use these for walks, so he can go on walks on these cold days. I may also get the dog socks, as I read that they prevent rubbing to prevent any damage to the dew claws. Again, do not just guess on your dog paw size. Measure to get the right size, as the boots will come off if they are not a right fit.Protection for our pitbulls feet when we go out he suffers from a protein allergy and these work great when we go on walks these are greatToo cuteMy labradoodle is always cutting and damaging his pads, nails and claws as his zest for life means he goes everywhere at top speed. I bought these boots to protect a poorly paw with a nasty chunk of pad which he had managed to slice off. He was hopping lame without the boot but with it he could easily do his 8 km morning walk. He was off the lead and chasing his ball. He only wore one boot but it did not bother him, it didn't slip, turn round or come off. They are flexible and super protective. Waterproof when on lead and just raining but understandably they are not full on puddle/swimming proof. Great product, so glad I bought them, Denzil thinks he Mo Farah now!!!The first time my dog wore these, I was not optimistic! However, he got used to them within the day. Would have preferred a soft lining as rubbed a bit and cost me a further 18 quid for liners. At best part of £25 a set (I bought two) I think a soft lining is not too much to expect! They stay on but need to be tight so do not fall off. I'm waiting for a friend's design to be completed which I'm hoping will be better! For the time being, these are probably the best on the market, and my vet agrees. Protects from potentially dangerous grass seeds which my Cockapoo repeatedly gets.My Lab had a cut on his paw that just wasn't healing. Every time he walked on stubbly grass, or on gravel the cut would re-open. The Vet advised boots (along with some prescribed ointment). The boots came very quickly and Ben (the dog) got used to them immediately. He knows that when I put them on he is going for a walk - so even lifts his paw to have them fitted! After 10 days the sore paw has nearly completely healed, so that's great. Just one point - whilst the bottoms of the boots are quite rugged and waterproof - the tops will allow water to pass. So walking in wet grass means the dogs paws get wet.The method of sizing them was exactly right.Very pleased with this purchase. Thank you (from Ben as well).Bought a pair recently no problem apart from losing one the very first day. Next set very rubbish quality. We only use two each time. Used today and look at the pictures above to see damage after first use. Poor, poor quality.Want a replacement but amazon can't do this now I will have to glue the soles as coming apart after one use.Got these for a paw injury as my dogs are always scuffing their paw pads. Initially I couldn't fault them as they fit brilliantly and did the job. My dog wore them a bit around the house to stop him licking his paws and he wasn't bothered by them at all.We then wore them out on a few walks, and after about 4 walks they have split. I would have expected this after prolonged use, but not for the amount we did use them. They are however cheaper than other products on the market so I suppose that needs to be taken into consideration.
