Great book???I am a firm believer in learning from books, as opposed to online. I can flip the colorful picture pages back and forth for comparisons. Best of all, my granddaughters have inherited my love of dogs, and their world can be enlightened by the illustrations and the bold text. All my personal dog books are well thumbed and worn. I though the granddaughters might enjoy books of their own. I see many question and answer sessions about dogs in our future, and most of the answers will come from the book!A great book to have for anyone who loves dogs. It is a very informative book on all the different breeds and their traits, habits, and needs. This book even informs the reader of the type of demeanor each breed is genetically carrying. Facts regarding the care each individual breed needs for a healthy and happy life such as nutrition, grooming, and excersise are extreemly informative. A fantastic book for the Pro and Novice alike.I got this book for a student and she loves it!!It's a nice handy reference document to have, if you are a caring dog owner. You may want to learn about your companion's temperment or what to expect and how to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle which will eventually add joy and longevity to their existence.Very helpful although information on cross breed dogs would be nice. Cockapoos,golden doodles etc are great dogs to own and do not shed ---- hence, 4 stars-- not 5This book has worn pages from it's use. It is very informative and an oustanding resource to review pros and cons of a breed through the use of a picture key. Not only would I recommend this book for the dog lover's library, but it would be very helpful for anyone trying to choose a breed that is right for them.This was an excellent book and had all the breeds I was looking for. Nova Scotia Duck Toller is a new breed and lots of books don't even have it in theirs but this did! Awesome book!Although not new the book was in excellent condition and was very helpful. Illustrations good. But in some respects the book was out of date. It recommended giving chocolate as a treat which everyone now knows is quite poisonous to dogs and for this reason I have awarded only three stars. But the advice on other matters was good.Bought as a gift and was received very well. I was impressed with the layout and content of the book and whilst it was not a comprehensive guide to all breeds it did cover the majority of the popular ones. Lots of content on care of dogs etc. Overall I was very pleased with the purchase.Over 180 different breeds covered in this beautifully photographed book, detailing breeds, behavioural traits etc. Also looks at pet care. Being dog lovers, my wife and I will enjoy this fantastic book for years to come. Would recommend to anyone wishing to learn more about dogs, especially those who have children.Fantastic book. Highly recommended. Lovely pictures of loads of breeds and lots of written guidance as well. Is big book, quite heavy and excellent value for a tenner.Coffe table book, but I am glad I got it.
