If you have put off buying this DVD because Amazon lists some other people's names as the stars, rest assured that this DVD contains the RKO musicals, "Old Man Rhythm" and "To Beat the Band" (and not something starring Nina Li Chi and David Chiang). It took nearly 2 weeks for me to receive this DVD, probably because it was on some dusty shelf in an Amazon warehouse. Perhaps not too many people have purchased it, fearing that they would get some crazy, knock off DVD - who knows? Regardless, Warner Home Video has put together two films as a Johnny Mercer double feature. Famous for writing many song standards, Mercer only appeared in a handful of films as an actor, these being two of them. I bought this because I love Betty Grable (who tap dances in pointe shoes in "Old Man Rhythm"!) and any film of hers is okay by me. The second feature, "To Beat the Band" stars Warner Brothers comedian Hugh Herbert and many RKO contract players of that era. If you are a fan of RKO musicals or just musicals of the late 1930s, you'll enjoy this DVD.
