known Roger Pinckney for years and his stories of the low country are terrificHuge fan of Roger Pinckney books! I highly recommend this book in addition to others! This book was not as long as I would liked. However, it is an excellent book to read! I as well as many coworkers have really enjoyed this book! The ending epilogue is Fabulous!Fans of Florida duo Hiassen and R.W. White, lookee here! A fun and enthralling light read that you just want more of.I always enjoy some local history (and flavor) thrown into a good story as it adds a nice extra dimension, and Pinckneydoes it well. The cast of characters brought up images of Skink and Doc Ford's marina buddies...Tomlinson etc. Highlyrecommended !Some aspects of Blow the Man Down are perhaps a bit hyperbolic for the taste of many readers, but if you are acquainted with the South Carolina lowcountry and appreciate its peculiar beauties you're bound to love this book. The descriptions of the creeks and marshes, the ocean and beaches, and the flora and fauna are marvelous, and spot-on. The story will grab you, too, and keep you hooked until the surprising and gratifying epilogue. Buy it. You won't regret it.Blow the Man Down is quick and clean, maybe a little mean. Grayson Devoe thinks too many times with his little head rather than his big one and he pays dearly for it. Sex, cocaine, gunfire, voodoo and a final redemption. Loved writing it!
