It a great training rope. I can clip around my waste or any thing sturdy to make it hand free.Since I don't have a fenced yard, I will sometimes hook my dog up to a lead I've attached to the front porch railing and let him stay outside for a little while. He is 80 lbs Pit mix. The very first time using this he ran to the end and the clasp broke, in not one but two places.The rope does seem good but the clasps are junk. There is no way you should ever trust this lead to secure a medium and above size dog and leave it unattended for even a short period of time.The write-up states it's good for 300 lbs of force. Don't believe it. My dog may have run for about 10-15 feet before reaching the end of the lead and it snapped like it wasn't even there.Since the rope seems like it will hold up I went out and purchased stainless steel fittings. Yes, they cost more than the lead did, but I can just transfer them to the next one when the rope wears out. And this setup will not break.Have had it for over a year now. Has held up great. Use it fir my 2 dogs in the woods and on hikesWould not recommend this long leash for reactive dogs, dogs that chase things, or dogs that will potentially pull or lunge. Rope is strong. Harware is NOT. The metal clip failed and snapped while on a walk - The clip section completely came off of the rotating part (after about 4-6 months of use a couple of times per week.) Our experience is that the metal components do not stand up to tension. For long leads and recall work, we are going to try a carabiner-style clip instead. (Pricier but worth the security.)this leash has held up well through training my 2 bullmastiffs and continues to do so...the rope is thick and sturdy. no problems with the metal clasp. there is that black plastic tab that popped off from when I first got it. it's annoyingly eye sore but doesn't affect the leash. guess I'll super glue it one day. durability is great which is why I ordered a 2nd leash! my girls are now training for off leash and the 15 ft length is perfect for classes and working with them at home and parks. quality is good for the money.I'll write an updated review if it breaks on me.My dog loves to bite through his leashes this one he has yet to be able to even make a dent. It definitely is durable and strong we put it on a stake in the ground and have had zero issues with it. It doesn’t tangle and the dog loves being able to run aroundWorks well. Wish I had not bought it so longI love this lead. I live in a place with routine sub-zero temperatures in winter. The typical vinyl covered cable type of lead would kink and crack and have to be replaced. No such problems with this one.
