Stieg Larsson Man, Myth & Mistress who created the Millennium Trilogy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo The Girl Who Played with Fire The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest Is Lisbeth Salander a feminist — or a comic book avenger? Is her creator Stieg Larsson a feminist — or a prurient, violent hack? What is the Millennium Trilogy really about? Is it literature or vicarious violence and sex? Should Eva Gabrielsson be in charge of the Girl franchise? Should there be a second Salander Trilogy? Who built the Stieg Larsson myth, and is any of it true? Bestselling authors André Jute and Andrew McCoy wittily investigate the evidence — and arrive at the correct politically incorrect answers. They fix the blame for the Larsson scandal on… surprising people. Some Millennium fans will riot, most will be riotously entertained. ‘Jute is great…a private godsend.’ Ruth Rendell, The Times

From the gossipy tone, the sarcasm and exclamation points I thought junior high girls wrote this book! It also reminded me of listening to women who are so into soap operas they talk as if the characters are real life people. I wanted to tell the authors "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is a work of fiction. I went back to look (I have the Kindle edition) to see who the authors were. Two men. Certain gay men sound like junior high girls and are gossipy. At least one of them is married. It also has a similar tone of that female author who wrote a book on Julian Assange (speaking of Sweden). The authors are upset that the female character Lisbeth Salander has a bigger and more dynamic part than Mikael Blomkvist and yet they want us to believe they've got the skinny on feminism. From their tone and words on the page they appear to HATE Larsson's girlfriend and accuse her of not being a feminist. The authors take on Stieg for writing that 18% of women in Sweden have at one time been threatened by a man complaining he didn't cite a source or define threaten. The authors could have Googled and researched themselves particularly since they seem to be putting themselves out as the protectors of feminism. The figures come out to 25% physical violence and 34% sexual violence towards women in Sweden per a 1998 study done and a report issued called "Captured Queen".That Stieg Larsson is disgusted by violence done to women the authors tell us he is a "decent" man, "but it doesn't make him a feminist." This reviewer's opinion is a "decent" man is a good thing. Then apparently the authors found a list of "feminist principles" which they used to "test" Stieg's "text" then gave him a failure on the test. While they slash away at Larsson for not citing sources, the authors fail to tell their readers where they found those feminist principles, how many are there and what exactly are THE feminist principles? While slashing away at Steig the accused anti-feminist, one of the authors has to tell the readers he has a Maserati and that HIS publishers have to make sure he has three spaces in the parking garage so no one will dent HIS car especially by "careless Rastafarians". These self-proclaimed feminists thus show us their racist side.I only read half the book. I wish I had read the reviews before I clicked "buy". As the authors noted with the help of Amazon reviews 1 million folks bought "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".With these reviews perhaps few will end up buying this book. I will not be buying other books from these authors. I find it particularly disagreeable when the start of a book looks promising and then the author takes a big turn away from the promise of the story to a gotcha. Maybe once, but not twice, not ever again.
