Released in 2000, this is Man's 11th and last real studio album. Martin Ace did carry on the Man name with his son and son's friends but it wasn't the same. On the next album, Diamonds and Coal, Ace complained that the awful Thank God It Wasn't Miss Cathy was included on Endangered Species...thank god it wasn't.The album is just under 60 minutes long and the sound quality is very good, especially for a CD from 2000. It isn't excellent, beautiful sound, but Man is more of a garage band and the sound quality here is perfect for this type of music. The band includes Leonard, Ace, Jones and Ryan with a new drummer. I like the new drummer better than Weathers. (Weathers used to be in Gentle Giant). This is one of Man' best studio album. It is much better than last studio album, Call Down the Moon, which was released 5 years earlierMost of the songs are very good and even the weaker songs by Ace aren't bad. What makes this album great are the guitar (and even keyboard) interludes throughout the album. There is just great guitar playing. And they are long interludes, not just 1 minute snippets. On this album, Leonard plays in a few different styles. On the first track, he sounds just like Frank Zappa.I have felt that some of Man's studio albums have been pretty bad, and most of them only have a few good songs on them. The other problem is that most of my collection is on CD and most of the Man studio CDs have horrible sound quality. My favorite album is Back Into the Future. Leonard is not credited on that album, but I have always wondered if he and Tweke Lewis are the same person.
