I could not find this streaming or to rent anywhere, so I bought it. It's... alright. The silent film is a lot better in my opinion. This movie did add a scene from the book that the 1920s film would/could not add (the torture dungeon scene) so that was a nice touch.But they also reduced the roles of major characters and completely omitted others. It was a little baffling.It was beautifully shot, but there were moments that felt more impactful in the silent film, than in this one, I feel.It's fine, but if you had to choose between this one and the 1920's one, I would go with the 1920s version.
