These boots are really quite nice, especially considering the price. The leather is noticeably heavier (and stiffer) than that used by manufacturers like Ariat or Treadstep, which I like. Break in will probably take a couple of weeks and will require some moleskin and/or bandaids. This is just fine with me - I don't like the light, soft, flimsy-feeling leather that most inexpensive boots are made from these days. I have not tried oiling or using leather softener, so I can't say how that might affect them. The grain is very fine and consistent on both boots. The stitching looks pretty neat and even. The soles look to be a single piece of soft rubber that provide good grip. No idea whether the soles can be replaced when they wear out.I really appreciate that Hispar make men's boots in smaller sizes. Not every male rider in the US is 6' tall with a size 13 foot! The boots seem to run a little on the large side. I measured myself 3 times following the seller's instructions and had a friend measure as well. I would probably have been fine with a half size smaller than that reccomended by the sizing chart, but they're not big enough to make me want to exchange them. The heavy riding and hiking socks I wear will fill most of the extra space, and once winter comes, there'll be plenty of room for toe warmers and winter riding pants. The buckle closures on these boots also mean they can be worn over a pair of slim-fitting jeans, which is a nice option to have.My only complaint is that the calf is cut pretty large for a men's boot, almost like that of a women's boot. It doesn't hurt the appearance, but I'd prefer if the fit through the calf were a bit more snug. I don't think going with a narrower leg would help. The ankle and the very top of the leg fit properly; it's just the calf that's too large. They could probably be cut down a bit by a competent shoe maker if a closer fit were needed.Overall, I am very happy with the boots and would recommend them to others.We are aggressive horse riders and ride two - five hours twice a week. These boots are made like I like my custom boots with stiff thick leather. The fit was just right for my foot, calf, and knee height. I wore them two days in a row, I could feel they were new boots but they didn’t cause any issues and held up well. (So far) they are offered in two colors Black and Brown. I would have liked it offered in the camel color like another style. The order was received prior to the projected delivery date. The exterior coating is like a patent leather and is supposed to breathable and waterproof. I hope they last for a couple of years or longer. I was skeptical on the excellent price and quality. Because of how good the initial pair is I have ordered a second pair in another slightly different style.I’ve now worn the boots four times several hours each time - Excellent boot for your money. The leather materials appear to be of good quality. The buckled and eyelets are the weak link, they can be made from a better material such as brass. On the first time I wore them the eyelet came outback I contacted the company by the number provided and they immediately said they would send the replacement piece(s) or return them to send a replacement pair.
