My Great Dane puppy loves this toy. She plays with it with or without treats. The only minus is the rope. First it didn’t seem thick enough and the treat just fly out & it didn’t last long at all. I had re-knotted the ends to make it more challenging. My baby girl is not an aggressive chewer, she actually plays and tosses her toys around. So I was very disappointed that the rope was destroyed after a few days of play. Currently I’m trying to find a way to replace the rope, because she keeps digging it out to play with it.I like this food dispensing toy and so does my dog, but after using it for almost two weeks (not daily though), it now smells so bad. I tried washing it out but it still smells…like pine and mildew. I keep it in my laundry room and I’ve been trying to figure out what the terrible smell was from. I thought it was wet clothes that had fallen behind the washer or something. Very strange!! With the rope, probably don’t want to put it in the dishwasher. It’s been great otherwise. My dog is tough on toys. I try to have a variety of treat dispensing toys around as they keep her mind engaged, and reduce her anxiety as I go out the door. This one is VERY sturdy. She goes to town chewing on it and the toy really holds up.It is easy to untwist the bottle in order to put treats inside (Which I find isn't always the case with these types of dispensers). She hasn't chewed bits of it off, as she has with other dispensers (including soft AND hard plastic). My one negative comment would be that it dispenses treats too easily. I have tied the ends one more time.again, on each end to make the knots bigger and closer to the mouths of the bottle. I also make the treats bigger, so that she has to work harder and longer to get the coveted prizes. She loves this thing! Overall, I am very happy....and so is she.?My dog is an aggressive chewer and destroyed the rope portion of this toy in 10 minutes. We are now just using the plastic bottle part - that is working pretty well - he still has to bat it around to get the treats out. This product was really cool but my dog chewed the tug-of-war part so all the treats just fell out instead of actually playing with a toy I wish the rope was more sturdy and more chew proofMy 35 lb Aussie mix loves this and gets a little closer to understanding how to get the treats out every day. He understands the treats are in there, and that they come out using the rope, and that's about it so far. But it's funny to watch. The sound is annoying on hard floors so if you only have hardwood floors, maybe consider a different toy. But both ends are covered in a chew-safe rubber and the rope seems sturdy, so far. My dog is a toy-gutter but since this isn't the type of toy you can gut and destroy, it has thus far held up pretty well. Thanks!it didn't take any time for my dog to figure out the trick on getting the food out, but we got it so he would eat his food slower, he went from 1 mins to 12. mission accomplishHe LOVES this. He has many other feeding puzzle toys and this is a favorite we use almost daily for one of his meals. One end of the rope is now loose enough that it comes through the fitting. It needs to be re-tied, but I'm not sure if it can be made tight enough to stay together. This is such fun, if it cannot be done correctly I will buy another. ?
